1. Who We Are

We act as the Data Processor for user data stored and processed through our cloud infrastructure, and in some cases, as the Data Fiduciary (similar to “data controller” under GDPR).

2. What Information We Collect

When you or your authorized provider create a TentoVision account, we may collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Contact phone number
• Company name (if applicable)
• Shipping or billing address (for device or subscription delivery)

We also collect technical and usage data such as:

• Device names and IDs (e.g., your camera names)
• Device and app settings
• Usage analytics and error logs
• IP address and approximate location (for security and analytics)

If you connect CCTV or IP cameras through the TentoVision app, it will scan your local network to detect compatible devices. Only the cameras you choose to add to your account will be linked and stored.

If you enable AI Analytics, our system may analyze your footage for objects or text (for example: people, vehicles, number plates, or shop signs).

The resulting metadata (like person detected or license plate: TN07XX1234) will be stored as long as your video is retained and deleted when the related video is deleted.

We do not store sensitive payment details such as full credit card numbers. Payments made directly to TentoVision are processed securely via trusted payment gateways including Razorpay, Stripe, PayPal, and Cashfree, in accordance with their own privacy policies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the TentoVision Service
• Set up and manage your account
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support
• Notify you about service updates or maintenance
• Customize your experience and suggest relevant features
• Analyze usage patterns to enhance performance
• Comply with legal obligations under Indian law

We may occasionally contact you with updates or promotional information about new features — you can opt out anytime.

4. When We Access or View Your Video Data

You are the owner and controller of your video data. TentoVision will only access your video data in two cases:

1. With your explicit permission — for example, when you request troubleshooting assistance.
2. When required by law — such as a valid court order or government directive.

We never use or view video data for any other reason.

5. AI Model Training and Data Use

If you opt in, we may use non-personal and anonymized data (e.g., object tags or movement metadata) to improve our AI detection algorithms.

We do not use identifiable footage or personal data for training without your consent. You can opt out anytime from Settings → Privacy → AI Model Training in the app.

6. Sharing Your Information

We share information only with:

• Trusted service partners who help us operate the platform (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, or communication services)
• Law enforcement agencies, when legally required
• Successor entities in case of merger, acquisition, or restructuring (with equivalent privacy protection)

We never sell or rent your personal data to any third party.

7. Data Storage & Retention

Video data is stored securely on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Wasabi Cloud Storage data centers located in India, Singapore, or other approved regions for performance and compliance.

Your videos are automatically deleted after your retention period (as per your cloud plan). If you delete a camera or your account, your video and metadata are permanently deleted within 48 hours.

8. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

• Access – Request a copy of your personal data.
• Correction – Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion (Right to be Forgotten) – Request deletion of your personal data and videos.
• Withdrawal of Consent – Withdraw consent for optional processing (like AI model training or marketing).
• Grievance Redressal – Contact our Grievance Officer for any privacy-related complaints.

We will respond within 30 days, extendable by another 30 days in complex cases.

9. Cookies and Tracking

What are cookies?
Cookies are small files stored on your phone or computer that help us remember your preferences and improve your experience.

We use cookies to:

• Keep you signed in to your account
• Measure traffic and usage patterns
• Improve app and website performance

We do not use cookies to store sensitive personal data.

Managing cookies:

You can clear or block cookies in your browser or device settings. Disabling cookies may affect some features (like auto-login).

10. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including:

• Encrypted video transmission (TLS/SSL)
• Secure storage on encrypted servers
• Limited access to authorized personnel only
• Regular security audits and data access monitoring

Despite these precautions, no system is 100% secure. By using our Service, you acknowledge and accept this limited risk.

11. Data Transfers

When necessary, your data may be transferred to servers outside India (e.g., AWS or Azure Singapore) for redundancy or reliability.

We ensure such transfers comply with the DPDP Act and maintain equivalent privacy safeguards.

12. Retention and Deletion Policy

Your personal and video data are retained only for as long as required to provide the Service.

When you delete a device or account, we remove your video data within 48 hours and anonymize all related logs.

14. Updates to This Policy
